Tactile Ceramics
Emma Tamaris was born and bred in the Derbyshire Peak District market town of Bakewell.

After leaving school Emma studied 3D design at Chesterfield College. The course covered many areas and inspired her love of ceramics. The natural progression was a BA degree course in Ceramics and Glass in Birmingham.

After graduating with honours Emma returned home to Bakewell where she set up her business ‘Tactile Ceramics’ in early 1994. She exhibited her work at many craft shows and for four years was based at a craft centre in Eyam.

In 2001 Emma moved to the East Riding village of Beeford, just a few miles from the sea. From her cottage workshop she expanded her range of work and continued to exhibit at craft shows nationwide.. This was how she met Tine.

2007 saw Emma having her son, who is already developing his own range of work which he sells alongside her.
Emma is a member of ‘Made in Yorkshire’ which holds various craft shows in Yorkshire, particularly in York itself.
