Karen Faulkner-Dunkley
For as long as Karen Faulkner-Dunkley can remember, she has loved and worn jewellery. She has always been very choosy about the styles and types of jewellery she would wear.
As a young adult, Karen's passion for the perfect pieces of jewellery saw her travelling to craft fairs and designer shows in the search for something just right. She rarely found what she wanted. In 1999, whilst she was a teacher of biology, she attended a local jewellery making evening class with the intention of making the collections that she really wanted to wear.
That was the start of everything she makes today. Her love affair with jewellery blossomed and she was inspired by that first evening to enroll on short specialist courses and she started to read books...lots and lots of books! She began to make and sell her jewellery on a part time basis, whilst still teaching. In 2002, she made two moves: she moved with my husband, two young children and labrador dog to the Cambridgeshire countryside whilst at the same time moving out of teaching and into making and selling her jewellery full time.
From those beginnings, Karen is proud to say that that she continues to personally design all the collections in the KFD Jewellery range, and they are all hand crafted in her Cambridgeshire workshop. For the last 14 years she has pursued her dream and passion of creating beautiful and elegant handcrafted jewellery that ladies love.
Karen's wish is that every piece of jewellery she has created helps you feel unique, sophisticated and stylish whenever you wear it.
